When I started talking to claims teams about AI, the first question was rarely "which tool is best?" It was "which tool is best for this problem?"
A carrier fighting fraud needs something very different from one buried in large-loss files. So instead of ranking everything against everything, we've sorted the tools by the job they actually do.
We've tried to be honest about where others fit better than we do, because that's what we'd want in your seat. One of the tools is ours. It's built for mid-size US property carriers and property-heavy TPAs, and a licensed adjuster or TPA handler always agrees with or changes the result.

Job 01 of 07
End-to-end automation and straight-through processing
Picture a handler with forty simple claims in her queue and one large loss that genuinely needs her. The simple ones still eat the morning. Each has to be opened, checked and keyed in before anyone can say it's fine.
Straight-through processing is the hope that the routine claims can move on their own while she stays with the one that can't. Good looks like a clear rule for what may go through, a person still watching the odd ones, and a record of why.
If that's your job, and you write more than one line, Sprout.ai is the clearest example on this list. Home and property is one of their sectors, not the whole product.
Sprout.ai
Their platform page describes five modules: document processing, coding and enrichment, policy coverage checking, fraud flagging and decisioning. They say the handling modules deliver straight-through processing whenever possible, and that the aim is to auto-adjudicate the majority of claims. sprout.ai/platform
On complex cases, the same page says handlers get insights and recommendations, with a rationale. Their FAQ says every recommendation traces back to the source document and policy terms, and that Sprout.ai doesn't replace the core claims system. They name Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Sapiens, Insurity, EIS, BriteCore and DXC.
The solution page lists seven sectors: health, life and disability; motor and auto; home and property; travel; pet; commercial; and specialty. For home and property, that page says Sprout.ai automates triage, coverage checks and fraud detection, and reviews loss documents. sprout.ai/solution
Where Sprout.ai is stronger. You write several lines and want the simple claims to settle without a handler. We don't auto-adjudicate, so if that's the goal, they're the better fit. I'd still ask for a property proof, since home and property is one of seven sectors on that page. Side by side: ClaimVision vs Sprout.ai.
Job 02 of 07
Photo and damage estimating
After a hailstorm, the first thing a family sends is a photo of the roof. The adjuster wants to know, quickly, whether it's a repair or a bigger conversation. That's a different job from reading the policy.
Good looks like a fast, honest read of the damage, with a person still free to disagree. One thing to say plainly: the pages we checked for Tractable are about vehicles, not houses.
Tractable
In August 2025 Tractable agreed to sell its Japan property business (Property Estimator, Property Underwriter) to NTT-ME, part of the NTT East Group, to focus on auto. Its site is now auto-only. tractable.ai/tractable-and-ntt-me
The insurer page describes first-notice photos classified as total loss, repairable or cash settlement, plus AI-verified repair estimates, claim review for consistency and fraud, and help with subrogation. Their FAQ says the AI evaluates all vehicle collision damage, from minor scratches to a total loss, and that it connects to estimating and claim-review systems. tractable.ai/insurers
Where Tractable is stronger. Photo triage and repair estimating for auto. If that estimate is your bottleneck, they're ahead of us. We read photos alongside the rest of a property file; we don't write a line-level repair estimate from an image. Side by side: ClaimVision vs Tractable.
Job 03 of 07
Fraud detection
Most claims leaders I talk to have a story about the one that got away: a claim that looked routine until someone noticed the photos didn't quite add up. Fraud isn't only a cost line. It's why honest policyholders wait longer, because every file gets treated with a little suspicion.
And it's getting harder, now that anyone can edit a photo or a document in seconds. The tools below won't replace a good SIU team's instinct, but the best of them help that team spend its time on the files that deserve it.
Shift Technology
Shift's homepage describes AI agents for coverage and liability, fraud and risk, subrogation, injury, process and payment integrity, plus an Insurance Data Network. The span is wider than fraud alone. shift-technology.com
The fraud and risk page describes agents that detect and prioritize suspicious claims, build an investigation plan, take on case tasks, and answer questions about alerts and documents. They also use cross-carrier data through the Insurance Data Network. shift-technology.com/solutions/fraud-risk
The coverage and liability page answers a different question. It describes a review of policy coverage, duties owed and duties breached, details from police reports and from insured and witness statements, and a liability estimate that refreshes as new documents arrive. They say the agents work alongside human experts. shift-technology.com/solutions/coverage-liability
Where Shift is stronger. Fraud investigation, and liability assessment from incident documents. Many property carriers would run that alongside a file reader. Their coverage question is about duties owed and breached, drawn from incident documents. Ours is the property policy and its endorsements, read against the file. Side by side: ClaimVision vs Shift Technology.
FRISS
The page is titled Claims Analytics. It says the product tells you which claims to trust and which need an expert review for fraud, so honest claims can take a fast track, including straight-through processing. Claims are scored in real time. FRISS describes it as built with P&C insurance knowledge, and the page names Guidewire, Sapiens, Duck Creek or any other core system. friss.com/products/fraud-detection-at-claims
Where FRISS is stronger. Scoring a whole book for fraud, and fast-tracking the claims that pass, from inside the core system. If you want both that and a property-file reader, you'd run them side by side. We don't score claims for fraud.
Job 04 of 07
Document intake and extraction
On a Monday morning, the inbox is the claim. Notices, ACORD forms, photos and a loss run, all waiting for someone to key them in before anyone can think. That typing is where files sit, and where small mistakes creep in.
Good looks like fields landing cleanly, the odd ones flagged, and a person checking the exceptions. The four companies below each publish a version of that front door. It's how a claim gets opened. On its own, it isn't the reading of a long property file.
Hyperscience
Their claims page walks through an email and its attachments: classify each document, extract the fields, open a case from the policy number, then apply the carrier's checks. The worked example is a travel claim, a travel invoice, and whether the policy was active when the trip was booked. A person stays in the loop, and the result goes on to the existing claims system. hyperscience.ai/solutions/insurance-claims-processing
The broader insurance page says the same product is used across life, health, property, casualty and reinsurance. They name pre-built models for ACORD forms, and connections with Guidewire, Duck Creek and Vertafore AMS360. hyperscience.ai/solutions/insurance
Where Hyperscience is stronger. Messy inbound documents, including standard forms, turned into clean fields across several lines. If the wait is data entry at intake, start here. The claims story they publish is a travel claim, so ask to see a property file.
Indico Data
Indico's claims FNOL page describes agents that take in PDFs, emails, images and scanned forms, fill and check the fields, and flag what is missing or in conflict. Recommendations are tied to source evidence. They name connectors for Outlook, SharePoint, Guidewire and Salesforce, and say the agents ship ready for ACORD forms and first-notice templates. indicodata.ai/platform/claims-fnol
Their property and casualty page describes the same idea for underwriting and claims. Broker emails, loss runs, ACORD forms, FNOL reports and claims documents become structured data. For claims, they extract the notice, check required fields, and organize the documents into a claim file for systems such as Guidewire, Duck Creek and Sapiens. indicodata.ai/intelligent-document-processing-for-property-and-casualty-insurance
Where Indico is stronger. The front door of a P&C operation, when first notice arrives as an unstructured package. We start once there's a property file to read.
FurtherAI
FurtherAI's page for claims professionals says intake can run from first notice to an open claim without a person touching it. They also describe record review that surfaces the numbers, coverage gaps caught at intake, and reserves informed by a policy-to-claim check. furtherai.com/persona/claims-professional
Elsewhere on that page: loss runs turned into tables, policy summaries with each line anchored to the source wording, program reporting, and a commercial auto path from submission through to FNOL. A person stays on the complex files.
Where FurtherAI is stronger. Specialty and commercial teams that want intake, loss runs and cited policy summaries in one workspace. The customers quoted there are speaking about underwriting and specialty programs, so ask for a property claims example before you treat it as a homeowners product.
V7 Go
V7's claims management page describes document agents from first notice through cost control. The documents include FNOL forms, adjuster notes, medical reports, policy wordings, repair estimates and vendor invoices. Every extracted point is cited back to the source. Agents cross-check claim data against policy terms, exclusions and loss history, and outputs are routed into the claims system the team already uses. v7labs.com/vertical/claims-management
The claims automation agent page says the agent reads a whole submission packet, including forms, police reports, photos and invoices, runs an initial coverage check, triages the claim, and flags fraud indicators in the documents. v7labs.com/agents/ai-claims-processing-agent
Where V7 Go is stronger. One configurable layer across many workflows, including packets that mix medical bills, police reports and estimates. Citing each field to its page is a bar they publish, and it's the right bar. The testimonials on the claims page aren't property-claims stories, so ask for one.

Claims analytics and severity
On a casualty book, the fear is the claim that looks ordinary in week one and enormous in month eight. The people watching it want an early signal: severity, treatment, litigation, a fraud referral.
Good looks like that signal arriving early enough to act, with a person still choosing the path. CLARA Analytics writes about that job. They also use the words "claims intelligence", but for a different line of business from homeowners. Worth knowing before you compare.
CLARA Analytics
CLARA's homepage calls CLARAty.ai "the leading casualty Claims Intelligence Platform", with document intelligence and claims guidance for carriers, MGAs, reinsurers and self-insured organizations. Their focus is the casualty book. claraanalytics.com
The products on that page are Claims Document Intelligence Pro, for claim documents and medical records; Triage, to spot potentially costly claims early; Treatment, for care selection; Litigation, for attorney-involved claims; and Fraud, to refer suspicious claims. The challenges they list include workers' compensation fraud and attorney involvement in auto and workers' compensation.
Where CLARA is stronger. Casualty severity, medical records, treatment and litigation. If that's your book, they're the stronger fit. A homeowners desk won't find that job on the page I checked.
Job 06 of 07
AI inside the core claims system
If your people live in ClaimCenter, the help they'll actually use is the help that shows up on that screen. A second login is where good intentions go quiet. Good looks like an answer on the open claim, with the source attached, and the system of record left where it is.
Guidewire's own assistant is built for that. Naming it here doesn't mean anyone else on this page is plugged into it. And you don't need to replace Guidewire ClaimCenter to try a property-file reader beside it.
Guidewire ProNavigator
Guidewire describes ProNavigator as an assistant embedded in Guidewire applications. For a claims handler, the page lists policy terms and coverage details inside the open claim, AI-assisted damage assessment and reserve recommendations, help on complex multi-party claims, and less time on notes. guidewire.com ProNavigator
A person stays in the loop, and answers carry paragraph-level citations back to the source. Handlers can summarize a claim file and work through coverage assessments inside Guidewire InsuranceSuite (which includes ClaimCenter) and InsuranceNow.
Where Guidewire is stronger. You already work in ClaimCenter and want the assistant on that screen, on the claim that's open. That workflow is theirs. Ask both sides how documents would move. More on the core system: ClaimVision and Guidewire ClaimCenter.
Job 07 of 07
Claims intelligence for property files
The file lands, and it's long: the adjuster report, the estimate, the policy and its endorsements, the photos. Someone still has to read all of it before they can say what the claim is worth. That reading is the wait.
Good looks like the reading done before anyone opens the file, every finding linked to the page it came from, and the decision left with a person. The reading goes to the machine; the judgment stays with your people. That's the job we built ClaimVision for, at mid-size US property carriers and property-heavy TPAs.
ClaimVision
ClaimVision is an AI claims intelligence platform for mid-size US property carriers and property-heavy TPAs. It turns every page of a claim into structured data before your team opens the file, and lets them question that data with the evidence attached.
Findings come back with the clause and the dollar impact. Alongside them come a prepared report, a recommendation (including whether to hold or contest), a draft letter on your organization's template, and a chat assistant if you want to question the file.
A licensed adjuster or TPA handler agrees with or changes every recommendation. ClaimVision never decides, pays or denies, and the audit trail persists. We'll run the test on your closed files.
On security: ClaimVision runs entirely on Microsoft Azure, and client data stays in the client's region. Read our security page
Where ClaimVision is the better fit. The files are long, the book is property, and a licensed person still has to rule. Others on this list are better when the job is straight-through processing, a vehicle photo estimate, fraud, intake, casualty severity, or an assistant inside ClaimCenter. I've tried to say so above. See how it works, asking the claim a question, coverage and the fine print, the audit trail, and one example claim walked through. The category, in plain language: AI claims intelligence.
Comparison table
I've kept a table, because a meeting sometimes needs one. It isn't a ranking, and we don't score these products. Each "stronger when" cell is a job, and the link is the page it comes from. Checked 12 October 2026.
| Tool | Job on its own pages | Stronger when | Page checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sprout.ai | Multi-line claims automation, with straight-through processing where possible. Home and property is one of seven sectors. | You want one platform to settle simple claims across several lines. | sprout.ai |
| Tractable | Auto photo assessment. In August 2025 it agreed to sell its Japan property business to NTT-ME, part of the NTT East Group. The site is now auto-only. | The bottleneck is a vehicle estimate from photos. | tractable.ai |
| Shift Technology | Fraud and investigation agents, plus liability assessment from incident documents. | You need an SIU stack, or a liability estimate from statements and reports. | shift-technology.com |
| FRISS | Fraud scoring for P&C claims, with a fast track for claims it treats as honest. | You want every claim scored for fraud inside the core system. | friss.com |
| Hyperscience | Classify and extract inbound claim documents, with a person checking exceptions. | Intake is rekeying, across more than one line. | hyperscience.ai |
| Indico Data | FNOL intake for P&C: emails, ACORD forms and attachments into a claim file. | First notice arrives as an unstructured package. | indicodata.ai |
| FurtherAI | Intake, loss runs, cited policy summaries and coverage gaps, including commercial auto. | Specialty or commercial intake is the constraint. | furtherai.com |
| V7 Go | Configurable agents that read mixed claims packets and cite each extracted field. | You want one document-agent layer across many workflows. | v7labs.com |
| CLARA Analytics | Casualty claims intelligence: medical records, severity, treatment, litigation, workers' compensation fraud. | The book is casualty or workers' compensation, not homeowners. | claraanalytics.com |
| Guidewire ProNavigator | Assistant inside Guidewire, on the open claim, with cited answers and a person in the loop. | Your people already live in ClaimCenter and want the help there. | guidewire.com |
| ClaimVision | Reads the US property file before the team opens it, then recommends, including whether to hold or contest. Draft letter and chat. A licensed adjuster or TPA handler agrees with or changes every recommendation. | The wait is the reading of long property files, and a person still rules. | claimvision.ai |
How to choose
Bring the job, not the logo, into the meeting. You'll know your bottleneck better than I do.
Name it in one sentence before you book anything: unread property files, vehicle photo estimates, fraud referrals, first-notice data entry, casualty severity, or an assistant inside ClaimCenter. Those are different purchases.
Then read each vendor's own page and check the line of business. A page about vehicle photos, medical bills or a travel invoice is a clue. Ask them to show the same job on a US homeowners file.
Decide who may settle. If simple claims should move without a handler, look at the straight-through tools. If a licensed adjuster or TPA handler must agree with or change every property claim, look at a reader. ClaimVision never decides, pays or denies.
Keep the system of record. Ask what is read, what is written back, and what you'd have to move. You don't need to replace Guidewire ClaimCenter. A vendor naming Guidewire isn't, by itself, an integration you can switch on. Ask how documents would move, and ask us too.
Test on closed files you've already decided. We'll run the test on your closed files. Ask every other vendor for the same kind of test, on your files.
Plan on a stack. Fraud, photo estimating, intake and file reading solve different delays. The expensive mistake is paying two vendors for the same job.
Ask for security in their own words. For us: ClaimVision runs entirely on Microsoft Azure, and client data stays in the client's region. Our security page is the longer version. There's no pricing on this page; ask each vendor, including us, when you talk.
The comparisons already on this site go deeper on four of these names: Sprout.ai, Shift Technology, Tractable and Guidewire ClaimCenter.
